What is Marbling?
It is a method of aqueous surface design, which can product patterns that look similar to smooth marble or even stone. The patterns are a result of color floating on either plain water or a thick solution, and then carefully transferred to a surface, in this case a mug.
Through several centuries, people have applied marbled materials to a variety of surfaces. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery.
A major reason why this form of art is very appealing is that each design created is unique and can never be the same/replicated.
